Yea I have a little single six that I purchased from Flatlander (much to 2dogs dismay) that is just a heck of a lot of fun. It's funny and obvious of course that shooting my 32 mags makes me better with my 45 colts! It's all sight and trigger control without being knocked about at all. I have to admit that a Dillon set up in 32 mag would be nice rather than the single stage RCBS I have used for 20 years now. I have found basically 3 loads I shoot 4.0gr W231 with a 95gr RNFP for a plinking round and 11gr W296 with a 100gr XTP bullet (rarely) or most of the time a 120gr LBTGC bullet that really shoots well. These shoot very well in both my SS and my Buckeye Bisley, now I just need a holster for the little SS.

Besides Lloyd that little 32 kick should not bother your back at all.

Sounds like you had a blast!

I ran about 150 rounds through mine yesterday too. I slipped off to a public range up in Blacksburg while my guys were getting a driveway ready to patch (Ain't I dirty! ;D :D). I couldn't help it. It was only about 10 minutes from the job we were working on  ;D ;D ;D...

Fowler that 120 lfngc lbt seems to be the bullet of prefernce for heavy loads in this one too. I would never shoot out of my other 32s because of tight throats. This one was bought from cas the throating man and was allready throated. The other bullets it really liked were the ballistic cast 105 swc and the rcbs 98 but those two bullets have shot well in all of my 32s. What was surprising was the one in groups i was getting with smith a wesson long brass with the 105 swc and the rcbs full wadcutter. With only a smidge of bullseye there like shooting quiet 22s and you can about shoot and wait to here the bullets hit. Would be a great load for the grandkids.

Okay, you've stirred me up enough. I'll take my Mdl. 97 out to the range tomorrow. It's been about 2 months since I've shot it.

I had toyed with getting one and setting it aside for a project at sometime in the future while you could still get a new one. But decided to make it what I wanted I would just spend too much on it at the gunsmith. When Flatlander listed it for what I thought was a steal, with 2/3 of the custom work I had decided I had to do I rethought my conclusion and sucked it up in a few seconds. In fact I am still in hot water with the misses and will be till I get her a new computer. I few weeks (well going on a couple of months) of hot water is worth years of enjoyment!

As for these little guns being discontinued it has been a slow process over the last few years from Ruger but I think they made their last SS about 2 years ago and places like Donaldsons stocked up before they were done and have been selling them off since then. They are a great gun for the money and you will not be disappointed.
