Would you shoot this ?
It all depends on what the target was and how much powder was behind the thing. If it was a charging Elephant, I think I'd like to have this thing in my hands. If it was just a 55 gallon drum filled with water I think I'd only want to shoot it once.
It is a 1615 Grain Hard cast .880 Bullet lubed with Lar's Carnuba Red .
Hmmm. One pound of lead weighs 7000 grains, divided by 4 makes 1750 grains. So a 4-bore
roundball should weigh very neigh 1750 grains. This is a conical bullet and is considerably less than 1750 grains. Does it have a huge hollow base?
I would guess this is for an 8-bore.
What I'm wondering is what kind of velocity are they trying to attain that they figure they need a hard-cast bullet? Or are they just trying to penetrat elephant bone?
