the public is ignorent!!!

i just watched a video clip online wich has portrayed trapping and trappers in a absolutly horrific light. this video, called 7 minutes of reality, shows several animals including beaver, wolves, weasels, and numersouse other fur bearers caught inhumanly in traps, these traps in some cases were far to small for the animal (note the coyote in a 330) and obviously set by inexpierienced and foolish trappers. they portray footholds to be a cruel device wich crunch bones, break skin, and draw blood. How many animals have you you ever removed from a foothold with such reseults? i no i havnt found any yet! . I can currently not able to explain just how angry i am at the public for giving good people ,who know far more about nature than any PETA member i know, a bad name like this. If we want to keep are sport and traditions alive its time that we show people just who we are, im sick of the dirty looks and astonished faces i get for saying that i trap and hunt. I do this because it is what i love, it is who i am, and it is who my ancestors were. its time to make a change, so lets take action!

 Backwoods boy, I removed the link to that site.We do not want to give them any more hits on it. There are many photos and videos floating around,like it.Many are staged.
 It should be every ethical trappers goal,to help educate those coming up in our ranks.If you know someone that is not trapping responsibly,call him or her on it.If that doesn't work,call your local conservation officer.
 Had first hand experience with several anti trappers on Thursday night.They tried to lump all of us in with vandals,lawbreakers and slobs.
 They left the meeting with a bit more knowledge of what real trappers are like.But this does not change their major belief--most do not want any animal taken,for any reason.
 Thank you for your post ,you are right--trappers must wake up to the facts---If we do not act correctly and ethically ,we will lose.
 Care must be taken where we set our traps, just because it may be legal to set a trap in a certain spot, doesn't mean you can.If there is any chance of taking a pet--pass it up.Use your head and practice some common sense. We will all be better off.
