History/Files/M1/1939
« on: March 27, 2007, 05:55:58 AM »
Gentlemen,
Here are two files that show us how Ordnance and SA are working to setup Production for the M1 Garand Rifle for 1939. The file is based by Ordnance and SA that their data on production is just for an 8 hour day. This way if Ordnance/SA needed additional M1 Garand Rifles they would just have to train new personal and run either 2 8 hour shifts or 3 8 hour shifts. Basing the cost to just a 8 hr day sounds a lot better than funding for the 24 hr day. The second file deals with the funds to build 2500 Rifles but it also gives us a picture in time showing the need to build more M1 Garand. This file shows us the M1 Garand provided and those that will be required.
