« on: March 24, 2007, 09:26:26 AM »
Ok, one more thing before I place an order.  I'm going to use Win. 300 grn factory loads. At what distance and how high should I sight in my 45/70 to be reasonably sure I can make a hit on a deer ?Say out to 150 or 175 yds ? I have to use a scope as my eyes are bad.

sight about 3 inches high at 100 yds and you should have a maximun point blank range of about 175 yards.  I use a 6 inch target.
