Other fisherman??
« on: June 13, 2003, 10:28:10 PM »
I just can't figure it out I fish with other guys who see me killing bass on a certain lure and after "weeks" of this slaughter/spanking one shows up with the same bait I'm using?? I'm not like this at all but I just can't understand two years ago when I was fishing this crowded spot others would see me using manns crankbaits and scents and the next night they would show up with the same stuff and catch bass too(smart guys). But my regular fishing buddies, who I meet there don't seem to follow my lead they stay with the same bait everyday and catch nothing?  I just can't get thru to them that patterns and presentations change and this is what its all about picking the right lure size and color to the match the water conditions.  Ever fish with guys like this??? I have to admit one guy uses the same lure everyday and gets skunked and says there's no bass here left I have to admit the fishing has been tough but I'm averaging at least two bass per trip now and the weather is still bad(rain) weeks and weeks of rain.   The bass are hitting/killing crawfish cranks right now either green or red.   I have taught so many others in the past its just frustrating to try to help and I even gave the guy some of my extra lures that work and they sit in his box go figure?                             BigBill

Bigbill,  I dunno. Maybe it's a Macho thing?  I will mimic what I see working but even that doesn't help me

BigBill,
Maybe your buddies are trying to identify another pattern that might be more productive----Or maybe they fish what they have confidence in--------or maybe they're just slow---------Who knows?????????
