Shooting shot out of slug barrel??

  I have a 20ga. rifled barrel, and my question is , can i shoot shot or even buckshot out of this barrel without hurting the rifleing,,,,Thanks,,,Bruce...

I don't think it will do much to the barrel, but you had better be close to your target.  I bet your pattern will be 10' plus at 5 yards.

Not only that but you will have a HUGE hole in the center of your pattern at any range.

Why will there be a big hole in the center of the pattern? :-\

Do anyone have more info/experience with this topic?  Would sure be intresting to know.

The rotation imparted by the rifling will spin the shot out of a normal pattern into what is known as a 'torus' or donut shaped pattern.

For more information, try googling 'Paradox gun'  It's a gun with a partially rifled barrel for shooting both shot and ball loads.

You will also get a tremendous amount of plastic fouling from the softer plastic wads used in shot shells. Unless it is cleaned out it will have a detrimental affect on your accuracy when you go back to shooting slugs.
