Best bait I have found for coon is all the fields of corn the local farmers have. I just set the trails coming into the fields. No other bait require. This last fall I caught 82 coon during my six day vacation.

Tuff Question- See a coon if he's eat'n corn or other fruit. Wont even loose his stride as he walks by a trap set using fish for bait.
Same goes the other way around .If he's feed'n around water. The wants Fish frogs ect. Not corn or berrys.
Then late in the season FOOD is the last thing on his mind. HE WANTS LOVE (me to I'm late in my season) :o

hmmm its hard to beat fish scented stuff in my opinion but the problem is youll get possums n skunks to cuz anything will follow somethin fishy smelln. i dont do much coon trappin but id try fish oil (just drain some tuna fish water or sardine oil) as a trailing scent, but not if you got peoples pets runnin around!  if you got lots a cats then use honey as a trailing scent and marshmellows for bait, kittys wont even think twice as to weather they wana eat it or not they just keep walken. if marshmellows arent producing try the fishy stuff with cage traps, that way if you get a cat just release em n reset, they'll learn soon enough. if youre gunna use bodygrippers be careful no wants their bird dog or hound stuck in one of those. good luck to ya n be safe out there.

My favorite coon bait,is Blackies-Fatal Attraction. It is a strong shellfish bait.
I usually give coon a choice, fatal attraction in one pocket, and a sweet smelling bait or lure in the next.
Like most animalsI trap, I gang set for coon.
