new 32 mag today
« on: April 11, 2007, 08:39:31 AM »
Picked up a 4 5/8s adj. sight single six off of cas that didnt have a grip frame and fitted a stainless one ive got here on it. sure came out cute. Need to score a nice set of grips for it though. Its going to be a great gun for the grandkids! ive got about 1000 32 s&w longs loaded up with a 100 swc and a tiny bit of bullseye and its like a 22 but even quieter. SHould be a fun gun!

Nice little shooter you have there Lloyd. I am keeping an eye out for one too. One day I will either find one or have one made!!!!

Are you going to bring it to Grayling?

Lloyd,

That gun and those loads would be fun for anyone. Nice find.

Can't wait till the day I go shooting with my new Grandson, but it's going to be awhile. He's only 1.  :)

Lloyd, had one of those a few years ago.  Cut the barrel and ejector rod housing to about 3 1/4" and roundbutted it.  Then we thinned the ruger grips so they were no thicker than they are at the grip screw.  It was a great little gun and really felt good in the hand.  But it's backup in the woods duty got replaced by a S&W Chief's Special .38 with a 3" barrel.  Should have had a .38 spl cylinder made for the little Ruger instead but I still have the S&W and the Ruger went to a buddy of mine that just had to have it!  Enjoy that gun.  44 Man

I have one of the 6.5" guns. It is one of my favorites and the most accurate revolver I own.  I use the Eagle (checkered walnut)Gunfighter grips on it now. I really like them.
I keep toying with the idea of a shorter barrel, maybe one day.

  Who does the 38 conversions?

NOOO!  no conversion!  Those little .32's are too nice.  It's a great fun little round, especially for beginner shooters, kids and ladies.  Goves them a centerfire to enjoy without the recoil of the larger rounds.  Us gents can sure enjoy them too.  That's a nice'n you have.

got to agree. I can see no benefit to converting a 32 to .38 unless its just because you want something differnt

Lloyd, my 32's are about the "funnest" guns I own. I just sold a Bisley 32 to 2 dogs as I have a 6 1/2" and, my favorite (if I can keep it away from my 8 year old son!) a 4 5/8' that I tweaked a bit shown below. They are excellent shooters though I had CAS do the throats which did help. I generally load 115 gr cats from Shooters Supply and just bought 500 rounds of brass from Starline. Have fun.
