Thanks Rocko, Iron Co. is  about 75% national forest. It's not finding a place so much as finding where the deer are.  If you could help me in North East ,Mo. I would be most appreciate, I would pay to get on some leased ground(within reason) in Clark or Lewis Co.

Look around Council Bluffs lake, there are some pretty good spots from the junction of 32 and DD east on both sides of the road. The Bell Mountain area off A hwy. is another place to check as well as Johnson Mountain. There are good spots around but they tend to be isolated areas away from the roads. There are some bruiser bucks in the area but you will need to do some extensive scouting to find them. If you are willing to put in the time you can find a good spot, just don't expect to see a bunch of deer, I have gone several days at a time in good areas without seeing a shootable buck. Check the edges of the numerous clear cuts in the area for tracks, rubs, and scrapes. You might also try the Crane Pond area south of Ironton, I used to bow hunt there years ago can't say what it is like now but it should be worth a look.

Hope this helps!
