Rossi sxs hammer gun
« on: October 15, 2006, 01:30:20 PM »
Hello all. Been lurking these boards for a while now, so I figured I'd register.
Just bought a Rossi 12 ga. SXS hammer gun. Barrels are 28 in., full and mod. choked, and has 3 in. chambers. Receiver is silver with ample roll engraving. Condition is little used- like new. Shot clays last week, put about 150 shells thru it, functioned and shot great. Only problem was the left hammer screw backed out a bit (later fixed with blue loctite).
Only markings I see are from Rossi in Brasil. Ser. # is 08xxx. No import mark (that I can see ).
Overall, a nice hammer gun (once I got used to 2 hammers) That I plan on using for upland this year.
Can someone tell me about this gun ? i.e., model, age , importer ?
Thanks in advance.

I too have recently aquired a nice hammer SxS Rossi.  Mine is plain (no engraving) with case colored hammers.  I have not had the chance to take it out in the fields yet buy I am anxious to do so.  It appears to be a very good quality piece.  I'm looking forward to shooting it.  44 Man

I have a Rossi SxS .410 with dual triggers and exposed hammers. Best little squirrel gun your ever saw. It has full/full chokes and shoots slightly oblong patterns. I have been looking for another, without any luck. (I have two kids) Any one have or seen one? Please let me know.
thanks,
Don
