NEW BARREL!!
« on: March 23, 2007, 06:46:33 AM »
I just got my new barrel in. ;D
The box was bent but gun looks OK.
Sent it in jan 19 so it took just over 8 weeks.
They had told me 8 to 10 cause they were backed up.
Now if I can wait for my stock in the mail to shoot it.
I might have to do some swapping with the 223. ;D

Glad to hear you finialy got it. That would be the 7mm 08 right. I been thinking of getting one myself let us know how it shoots. I hope there are no hard feelings over yesterdays post.

Couldn't get that box open fast enuff!
Yes 7mm-08.
Hopfully I can get her CLEANED up and buy some ammo this weekend.
I am waiting on a synthetic stock and forearm for it.
I could take the forearm off of my 223 and sight it in,
but I try to have one of them shooting good all the time.
Do you guys think switching synthetic forarms will chang POA.

P.S. No hard feelings here.

Congrats on the new barrel!! ;)

There's a strong possibility that the syn forend will definitely affect how it shoots, I haven't had great luck with the syn forend on any handi, the wood stocks are much more user friendly as far as tuning for accuracy. I'm not saying it can't be done, but due to fact that there is no forend spacer, all fitting must be done at the screw hole and is pretty much permanent.

If you were ordering a stock too, unless you bought a used one of course, why didn't you send the bare frame in and order the stock at the same time? ;)

I am tradeing for used synthetic stock.
I have a synthetic on my 223.
Was wandering if switching one synthetic to the other would change.
Anyway it doesn't matter now because I got them in and have not shot the gun yet.
Plus it would have because this forarms barrel channel has been sanded a little.

I sanded the scope rail to bed it and tapered the screw holes with a drill.
It fits so much tighter.
Couldn't find my lock tite so I stopped there.

Should I Flitz the bore before I shoot it?
I don't want to break it in with "hundreds" of bullets.$$$!!!
