« on: April 08, 2007, 08:05:08 AM »
has anyone tried to shorten a new bar from a rifle to a carbine.my father in law has one on order after the gun shop took back the remington 750 piece of crap he bought last year.he has it in his mind that he is going to have the barrel abbreviated to 18".i told him that i would be real carefull,i have heard stories of other auto's not functioning correctly after a barrel chop.i really have no experience with the bar,was hoping someone here could enlighten us.thanks, adker

Browning makes the stalker model with a 20" barrel. Would that work for him? Byron

yeah,i told him about the stalker, and i quote"i don't want no xxxx gun with a plastic stock",lol.if it were me i would have one of them ss/synthetic.really the gun is going to be for my mother in law.she always hunted with a rem carbine, they bought a brand new 750 rem in 308 to replace an old one and had nothing but trouble with it.he has a new bar in 308 that was purchased at the same time,no trouble with the browning,go figure.thanks though, adker

I bought an old BAR in .270 that someone hacked off the barrel to 20 " & it worked fine, NEVER jammed with anything I put in it.
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!
