Show off your pretty stocks...PLEASE!
« on: March 25, 2007, 04:28:20 AM »
This is a stock I made a few years back. I like restoring antique shotguns as a hobby and have restocked a few. I found this gorgeous piece of wood and thought I needed a carbine stock made with the proper LOP, DOH, cast, and lean for me personally. I also made a full length hanger bar in order to lend support to that outrageously figured... yet thin forearm. It is pillar bedded in both the grip screw and forearm. I have since fully checkered my favorite toy. And no there is no recoil pad, it is checkered like many older double barrels. Currently it wears a Bullberry 17 Hornet, but also has a bullberry 17HMR, Bullberry 17M4. I've shown you mine no show me yours PLEASE!

And no I don't really make stocks for sale, it just beats paying for a therapist.

That Sir...is a beautiful piece of furniture...You did an outstanding job...Is that a silver escutcheon for the forearm tip?

Isn't that a nice stock?  Of the hits so far (91) I bet I have 30 of them.  I wish I could carve like that!

Although I own several rifles, pistols and shotguns. This is one of my few custom guns. The Contender barrel is from Bullberry and is a .223 match 21" bull barrell. The stocks are also from Bullberry. The forearm is black walnut and the rear piece is english walnut with the pistol grip capped with black walnut. The scope is a Bushnell Elite 3200 5x15.
