Where do you get your lead?
« on: April 13, 2007, 03:55:24 PM »
I am toying with the idea of starting to cast my own bullets after getting rid of all my casting stuff years ago.

What are some good sources of lead if I want to start casting?

Thanks,

Craig

I have enough put away to last me all my shooting days. I used to hit all the tire stores & garages for wheel weights & junk yards for pure lead pipe ( which is hard to find now ). Back then we paid $ 5 for a 5 gal bucket. Alot of the local garages would give it to you just to get rid of it. I would melt it down into #1 ingots for storage. I have a 4' wall of #1 ingots in my basement.
If you shoot alot, casting is worth while doing, but if you don't buy them it will be cheaper.
