Encore 45/70 muzzle diameter?

What is the outside barrel diameter at the muzzle?

Is the 45/70 diameter the same as all standard contour rifles?

Not all of us have Encores and even fewer have 45-70s.  Someone will come along and help.

Yes the 45/70 barrel is the std contour. I can't for the life of me figure out why they would do this but they did. With the exception of the Katadin (spelling) barrels which are a little different I think.   KN

That is the number to the custom shop. Just to be sure.
Factory tapered barrels are supposedly .725" for 24" with sights.
Tapered barrel .725" =factory 24"
 Heavy barrel .850"  =factory 26"
 Straight bull .995" = oh yeah!
   Custom shop uses different labels for different barrel profiles, ie;  their tapered is the same as a factory heavy or vice versa, I recommend calling them as I'm not sure which way they go on that one.

Seems like T/C would have made it around .850.
