OK - I'm fired up for turkey season!! My son and I were playing ball in the yard this evening and heard some turkeys gobbling on the hill behind the house. It was getting dark quickly but we threw down the gloves, grabbed the diaphragm call and walked up on the hill. It was awesome as we got closer and heard them still gobbling. We snuck to within probably a hundred yards or so and sat and called. There were at least three or four toms going nuts to virtually every call we made. My son does a pretty good turkey call with nothing but his own mouth and they were gobbling at him!! I'm not sure who was more pumped- my son, me or the toms. It was a great experience for my son and it goes without saying that he is eager to go turkey hunting. May can't come soon enough. I love spring turkeys

That's awesome...I wish NYS would push up our turkey season by a few weeks...Maybe to 4/15 instead of 5/1...I can't wait to get out there to roost the birds before opening day...
