20 ga hulls

Anywhere to get once fired Rem 20 ga hulls? AA don't crimp well for me.

I pick-up all the 20 ga. hulls I need at the local trap club. Seems like no one reloading 20 ga. so no one picks up the hulls. Mostly Federal around here and I really don`t like them, but they are free.

At the range where I shoot everyone says "you can't save any money by reloading for the 12 and 20 ga" but I've noticed I'm the only one tossing 20 ga hulls in the trash and darn few are tossing 12s either. In spite of what they say most are reloading for all four skeet gauges. I don't shoot the 20 very often and use the cheap Federals mostly and toss them as I don't reload Federal hulls period. When I buy Remington Gun Club ammo I do keep those to reload.

I mostly shoot the .410 and 28 tho. I've got a GBO member who is rounding up some 12 ga AA's for me to reload and shoot from my Rem 1100 G3. The guy that runs the club says if I'll shoot AA's he'll pick them up so I don't have to bend to do so. My back will not let me bend to pick up shells anymore. In fact the past two weeks it's been so bad I've not even been able to drive to go shoot. The 12 even with light loads kicks too much for my shoulder in an O/U so the G3 is the only thing I can shoot on skeet. So I mostly stick with the little guns.

I cant ever get a very good crimp with cheap shells. They usually open themselves. Anyone else have this problem?

What is your set-up? I'm using a MEC 600 jr and am reloading Remington game loads and STXs' with out problems. The forum maybe able to help you if we know what you are using to reload with.

I'm using a mec grabber. Rem hulls are working good but I cant find them anywhere.

Countryboy,
   I think you need to adjust your press. Those cheap Federals are as bad as they get to hold a crimp and you should be able to adjust it to do them. My 20 ga. press is a Mec 600 and they load fine on it, except that the soft case wall cause problems from time to time.
