12 gauge adapter

I just picked up a .357 Mag. adapter for my 12 gauge barrel. The adapter is rifled, 3 inches long and just slides into the chamber in place of the shotgun shell. Has anyone else ever used something like this and how did it work?? I have not shot it yet and am curious.

I have used the longer inserts to good effect. I have heard of some who use the adapters. The accuracy is ok. I t is fun though.
