Leupold QR Rings & Bases
« on: April 06, 2007, 10:16:54 AM »
Who's using Leupold's QR rings/bases on your Encore and how are they working out?

What's better for moving scopes between barrels?

Just wanting some feedback and opinions.

Thanks for participation. 8)

I just put some on my Encore, but haven't had a chance to use the gun yet.

I have always used Warne Premier bases and rings on my rifles, but it seems the new owners of Warne decided that they are too costly to produce and dropped them from the line.
I have several pair of rings left but cannot get bases for the Encore for these.

I have looked at everything else I can find and the Leupold looks like the best out there right now.

I used a set of the Leupold QRs when they first came out on a couple of rifles and they worked great. I just liked the "old" Warnes better.

The Leupold's are good.  I just find them to be a little too short for me.  I like the longer Warne bases like Capt Gary talked about.  They are a good bit longer.  I hope he is wrong about them no longer making the Encore base.  Tom.

Warne is still making an Encore base......it's just not the old Premier line that I liked so well on my Model 70's and 700's.
