In Bullseye does .45 mean strictly .45ACP?

If a shooter wanted to use a revolver in Bullseye competition must the .45 be the ACP version or could a .45 Colt cartridge be used?

(Was looking at the Ruger Bisely model)

You could use one, but it'd be a real challenge for the rapid fire stages!

I know a guy that does well with a S&W in 45 Colt. It is a Model 25,I think. One of those N Frame Smiths like the 44 Mag is built on. I think he just doesn't like picking up brass.
