peep sights and scopes

Lets say I get an Encore rifle and want to mount both a receiver type peep rear sight and a conventional scope. I assume 2-piece scope bases will use all the predrilled holes in the barrel. How to mount a sight such as the Williams WGRS? Just epoxy it on? And how to have the scope remain clear of the rear sight so that the rifle is still ready to go if the scope is removed?
Also, I haven't really thought it thru but I can imagine most folks would want higher rings than would be used on a bolt-action. What ring height are y'all using?

I doubt epoxying on a peep sight would work very well. I also don't see how you would mount a peep sight and a scope on an Encore or Contender without having some new holes drilled and tapped.
There are two approaches to having and using both iron sights and a scope on Encores. One would be to mount a Weaver base on a barrel with iron sights and mount a scope on it with quick detach rings. Another approach, and the one I like best, is to mount a scope with see through Kwik Sites. Kwik Sites put the scope higher than many like but they work well for me.

The caliber of the gun will kind of determine the type of sight that I will put on it. I put a Williams peep sight on my Marlin 45-70 as this is more of a "150 yard" gun. Very accurate with the peep sight though.
So, if your looking at a big bore, a peep sight alone will probably be a good choice. But for something like a 223 you may want to just think "scope".

There is an outfit, New England Custom Gun, I believe was the name, that advertised a Peep sight that would mount onto a Weaver Base. Then, with detachable rings and if your front sight was the right height, you could switch back and forth.

Walk,
That looks like just what the doctor ordered. I'd assume that it fits the standard 4-hole pattern?
