I'm just curious what kind of accuracy guys are getting out of their encore muzzleoaders.  I've entertained the thought a little bit, but never actually did anything about it.  I'm in Indiana and my slug gun is $3 bucks everytime I pull the trigger so maybe a muzzleloader is the way to go.  I know they look nicer, but if I did anything I'd be going with a 26" barrel.  Nothing against a 28" pro hunter but the 26" is closer to my budget.

My two Encores get 1 to 1 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards.  Both shooting different loads and bullets.  ;D

I get 3 to 4 inch 100 yard groups out of my Encore with iron sites.  I will admit though, that muzzel loaders are not even close to my first love.  The only reason I have one is that Ohio has a muzzel loader only deer season so I need one to participate.  If I fiddled with it a bit more, it would probably do better.

Like Grumulkin, I am not a muzzleloader enthusiaist. My Encore shoots well under two inches with 110gr T7 and a 200 grain Shockwave. That is good enough for me, so I have never worked with other loads, etc. That is 3 shots @100 yards, with a scope.

I live in Indiana also.  Hopefully the DNR passed the rifle chambered in handgun calibers at the meeting last week and it will be in effect for the coming season.  That will eliminate that $3 per slug problem.

If I hold real still I can achieve one ragged hole @50yds out of my 20" katahdin, with peep sights.
Powder is 777 ffg. I use www.prbullet, they make very accurate bullets.

My .50 Encore is more accurate than i am.  i can sometimes get three bullets to go into a 1.5 inch group at
100 yards.   One day at the range i had a young Marine fire it.   He consistently put those three bullets into less than one inch.  The most accurate load that i have found is 90 grains of Jim Shockey Gold, a Winchester Triple Seven Primer and a 250 grain SST.   i have made two very long kills with that gun and that load.  One was a deer at 160 Army paces.  The other was a hog at 172 paces.

120gr of 777 + 250 gr SST = nice Clover Leaf at 100yds with 209X.50 Encore topped with Burris 2X7 Ballistic Plex scope.

i get 1 1/2 inches at 100 using the Hornady Lock and load sabot and 100 grains of 777 pellets. I'd like to work up a load with 150 grains for longer shots. mine wont shoot that combo well.
