« on: January 28, 2007, 12:00:22 PM »
are you not able to get these guns with either wood or lams.  Are you stuck with just the synthetics?

That's the only way they are offered, but you could always swap stocks, they'll fit fine.

Josh:

I've got a set of black painted wood stocks if you'd like to make an
even up swap for your plastic set.

Don't know what your aim is with wood stocks..but have you thought of what you can do with the regular synthetics ?
You can either camo them with any number of patterns or you can paint them with any color/shade you wish. I have found that it all works well if the base coat is Krylon "fusion" paint (made for plastic).

Why not just go ahead with the syn stocks, try different paint experiments and if you still don't like it..swap 'em here for some wood ones ? Surely, someone will want some well done camos !

For me, carrying the rifle over the fields, woodlots and ravines, the syn stocks save a lot of extra weight..but I am 70 yrs old...LOL

I bought a nef 17 as soon as i found one  It was a good 2 months before I saw another one in a gun shop  I hated the plastic stock made it extremely muzzle heavy/off balance I ordered the laminated stock set and it made it a totally different gun It is now a well balanced rifle that feels good in my hands  I see it getting a lot more use now

Here's the answer Josh...Buy a Ultra Varmint in 22WMR...Then send it off to have the 17HMR barrel installed at the factory...Whammo...You have a 22WMR and a 17HMR and both have those nice laminate wood stocks...
