marlin 1985 stock....
« on: April 09, 2007, 04:25:44 AM »
I would like to convert my pistol grip stock to a straight grip stock, look'in at the parts list I would only a straight stock, a straight trigger plate, and a new lever. Has anyone done this , am I correct that these are the only parts needed? Is it as easy as it looks?

You are correct that you would need a straight stock, trigger guard plate and squared lever from either a 1972-1980 Marlin 1895, a Marlin 1895G, or even a Marlin 1895CB.
We learn something new everyday whether we want to or not.

Thanks for the reply Esoxlucius, do you happen to know if they can be purchased directly from MARLIN.
NUMRICH ARMS, as of today, was showing they didn't have all the parts.
Is there another supplier that you know of?

All I wanted was a pistol grip  for my guide gun but the parts were expensive and hard to get. So I bought a used 444P in good shape, changed the parts and sold the straight stock 444 for the same price. All It cost me was 40 Euros for the smith.
