Reloader 7 for mid-heavy .224" bullets
« on: April 10, 2007, 04:18:29 AM »
Can I use Reloader 7 powder to load .223 Rem w/ 60-68 gr bullets?  Is there any published load data for Reloader 7 w/ mid - heavy .224" bullets?

I have 5 lbs of Reloader 7 and can only find 55gr and under bullet loads.  The AR I am shooting (1 in8") only likes to shoot 60gr and up bullets well.
Thanks

IL hunter  I would say you could use re-7 I could not find any data on heavier bullets but you try it just back it down a couple of grains from 55 GRNS like most loads the heavier bullet lighter the charge 20.5 of re=7 for a 55 grn bullet in alliant's book just back it down see if works your not having to worry about to much air space in the case or anything like that I have found in 20 and some years of handloading there is reasons and there are reasons just use common sense! with a 69 grain bullet and 1-8 twist RE-7 could be the ticket
