MR-7 Numbers
« on: March 24, 2007, 10:34:36 PM »
I know this is basically a Lever Gun forum, but as a Marlin forum I thought this might be a better place to ask this question than in the generic Bolt Action forum.

Has Marlin ever released how many MR-7's were sold back in the 90's?  And how many of each Caliber were produced?

Sometimes there is quite a lag time before manufacturers make the mintage known.

Doesn't look like lots of activity here.  Sorry.  Give it a try in the BA forum and hope you get better luck.

One of the reasons I came to the Marlin forum is because I have tried once a year or so (for a few years)  in the Bolt Forum with no luck.  Production numbers is not the type of info Marlin traditionally gives out.  I just recently found out what the mintage was of the Bolt Action Rifle Marlin made in the 1950's.  Those numbers weren't released for decades.

I think if Marlin had released the numbers for the MR-7 I could have found out by now.  Not that it really makes a difference because I use my MR-7.  It is the best Bolt Action I own.  I was wonderng why Marlin gave up on it so quickly.  I heard rumors as to why production was stopped, but nothing definite.

I guess I will wait another year and ask again then.

Sooner or later someone might know the answer.

Sorry it takes so long.  I have often wondered why data like that is so secret to some companies.

Good luck with this in the future!

Over in Marlinowners.com there is a section called "Other Rifles", it is full of MR-7 threads and conversations.  Try it for your MR-7 information.

JVS, I also am interested in the info you seek. I own an MR-7 in .280 Remington & haven't been able to find the info over at Marlinowners web site. If you ever find the production numbers, please post them here for our reference.
