removing spray paint from synthetic stock

Anyone have any ideas how to get spray paint off of a synthetic stock?  I know lacquer thinner will take care of the paint, but what will it do to the synthetic material in the stock?  Other ideas?

Try acetone on rag and do small areas at a time.  That has worked for me.

If it's not that new Fusion paint, try running it through the dishwasher on the TOP rack.  Regular enamel usually doesn't stick that well to plastic.

Don't ask me , i just put paint on , not take it off .    What ever you use try it on the inside of the stock first to make sure it will not eat the tupperwear .

If you want to bring it back to new finish good luck. A happy medium is acetone to remove paint then sandblast with a fine sand to texture the stock. Technique will determine outcome. If you vary the time in the sun and shade you can maximize or minimize the time the acetone has to work. If you place a blue shop towel on it and pour acetone on it will help lift the paint. Keep changing to a clean one and the finish should be what you are after.
