You can always talk to the wildlife bioligists in that area. There have been some big bucks killed on Peavine mtn, just east of and within sight of Reno. Also the Sheldon area north of reno has always been notorious for good deer and antelope. The more popular areas/units are in the eastern and nothern parts of the state.
