I have used 180 grain Rem HP is the largest, I have box 170 grain Hp
By Sierra that worked great, Guess what Sierra stopped making them.
My luck find some thing good then can not get any more.
That's the Sxxxs!  I have 140 Sierra's that were good. Marv.

I had a 12" 357 brl for my T/C once. At 100 yrds I got 2" grps with the Magtech 158 grn. I shoots a little faster in a single shot than a revolver. My avr. fps was 1,800. The loads were so hot I had to use a tool to pull them out. I was going to get a 357 Maxi. brl when I was shown the 325grn 45-70 Hornady rnd that travels at 2050 fps. Later I bought a NEF and sold my T/C 357.

I went thruogh the same thoughts with my 357. I even thought about the 357 Maximum with the 35 Rem rnd. Take a look at the 325 grn Hornady Lever Evolution rnd and see if it changes your mind.

For Factory offerings, it 's hard to beat the Winchester Supreme 180gr Nosler Partition. Very accurate.( a bit pricey)
I use the same heads in my .357 maximum case. Can't beat it for east coast whitetails.
Some have reported being able to use .360 DW (Starline Brass) cases in the handi without doing a rechamber. Long throats on some of those barrels.
Have fun with that new shooter!
no x now!
