do you think anyone will come out with a 460mag lever action any time soon? that just seems to be a good combo just waiting to happen. 8)

Nope, not unless Hornady loads those soft rubber nose bullets for it at least. It's ONLY claim to fame over the .454 Casull for which lever guns are already made is velocity with those super light for caliber pointy nose bullets which aren't proper for lever guns at least not tube fed ones. For a lever gun the .454 Casull makes far more sense.

though a 336 would probably take it theres not enough of a saftey margin for the pressures involved for marlin to do it and it would never fit in a shorter action. The only 454s are on 92 actions which are alot stronger but allready stretched to the max to fit a 454. Marlin wouldnt even release the advertised 475s on 336s and they run at less pressure then the 460 and 454 do. Good news is a 4570 will do more anyway and if a guy wants a gun to shoot the same ammo as his revolver i guess you could buy a 45 colt rifle or a 454 in a rossi and shoot them in your smith too.
