police trade -ins

i am looking for a p239 police trade in.Usually there far from shot out(if possible to do to a sig.)The sites I know are coming up zilch.Kyimports stopped selling guns as of 1/31 and CDNN's webpage is under construction.I'm just trying to save money by getting a used one.The dealers around here want 750-775 for a new 2 tone with nite sights.I know alot of police models are not 2 tone but thats my preference but I will take an all blue one.I would like a 9mm (easier to shoot for the wife also) but would take a 40 .I'm not real picky.Just want something thats easy to carry and that my wife can use also(or atleast thats how I got her to agree with the spending ;D.Thanks all in advance

CDNN had them a while back, check again.  I would also get a current issue of Shotgun News, you can usually find them at Wal-Mart in the book department.  There are several places that advertise in Shotgun New that has them.

if you have a gander mountain near you check their. I picked up a p226 that was a cop gun. Shoots great and it was a lot cheaper than a new one. I know the gander mtn I got mine had a lot of different models and calibers. I don't know if they had a 239 though.

Gander MNt. has some Walther P38's at $279. If you really want a 9mm this is as good as it gets.

Outcast.  I agree, the P-38 is a fine pistol, but there is no comparison with the Sig 239.  This is kinda like comparing a Ford Falcon to a Towncar.  Both will get you from point "A" to point "B", but one does it wiith a little more class.  That is the Sig over the P-38, both shoot, but the Sig is by far better than the P-38 for conceales carry, and/or self defense.

I bought a Sig 2340 that was a Sig Certified trade-in from gunbroker.com.  A great deal and looks brand new.

Can't go wrong with a Sig trade-in. Chances are they won't even be broken in yet and you save a lot of money  ;D

On the topic of P226 "police trade-ins", I'd advise looking for one WITHOUT the night-sights...  Why?  well the night sights will most likely be on their "last leg".  Second (and most important) police guns WITHOUT night-sights are usually assigned to "desk-jockeys" - and have FAR fewer rounds through them.  You don't have to take my word for this - just look over the gun carefully and see for yourself!

I've bought 2 extremely nice condition P226's that have hardly seen a shot!  They are both in mint condition and the magazine bases aren't beat to crap from hitting the ground.. :P  Hows "half-price" sound for a nearly new Sig? eh?? :o

I hope you enjoy your 2340. I had one with the .40 and .357 barrels and I loved it. Then I sold it and bought the xd .45acp. I would trade the xd for that 2340 any day of the week and twice on sunday.

I am looking at a p225 trade in on Aim Surplus. Does anyone know what shape those guns are in. I think it list them as a "E6" or "P6" or something like that. Good price on them but would just like to see if anyone has any expierence with them. Thanks, Charlie

I just looked at them and they look like they are in pretty good condition and that is a heck of a price for them. They are the P6 which means that they were made in Europe and imported not made in the Exeter, NH plant.

I don't know if this will help but it might. I am majoring in Park and Rec. Admin. and have talked to a lot of Park Rangers lately, the Tn rangers are about to switch from Sigs to Glocks. I don't know if other state parks are doing the same but it is worth a try.

Just for information, CDNN has stopped advertising their guns on the net except to registered FFL holders.  I have a copy of their latest catalog, it has Sig 225 ( (NRA Very Good to Excellent) for 299.99, or like new for #339.99.  They also have the 220, (Very Good to Excellent for 499.99, and the 229 (very Good to Excellent) 429.99, or Like new for 469.99.

These are wholesale prices to a FFL.  But if you have a FFL that you can work with they may allow you to order the gun on your credit card, have the gun shipped to the dealer, and the dealer charge you a small fee for the transfer.  By doing this the dealer has no money tied up, and will still earn a few dollars simply by receiving and transferring to you.  Ask your FFL if they have a link to CDNN, or have a catalog, or call direct at 1-800-588-9500.

I looked at one that had the "loop hammer-spur" and it was in decent condition  BUT the import markings belonged on a billboard  (calling them "ugly" would have been cheritable at best)...

I would say to try and "see" one BEFORE you plunks down your hard-earned cash and decide for yourself is it's OK.
