Took the new 7600 35 Whelen out and zeroed it in at 100yds. The only thing I can say is WoW, what a brute. I started out with 180gr Speers and got it on paper then switched to 220gr Speers. Got it down to 1.5" at 100yds but gave up after about thirty rounds of zero and playing. Didn't try the 250gr bullets I wouldn't have made it yesterday. Have to get a good kick pad for this rifle.
I don't know why someone else besides Speer doesn't make a good 180gr bullet for this rifle. I don't go after Grizzly bear but once in a lifetime, but I shoot all the time. I bought the rifle to take to Alaska next year and want to get used to it and take my time learning to shoot it well. Puting a synthetic stock on it for the up north trip. Seems like all the guides want you to have a synthetic stock or stainless steel gun. I can keep it from rusting but I can't keep the wood from swelling.
Have a great day,
