I am cosidering the best way to attach a centerfire rifle barrel to a monoblock stub on a NEF handirifle.
The barrel is a 7 mm rimmed wildcat that I dreamed up and the barrel stub came from a 20 ga. pardner
shotgun. I have seen several posts using the threading method but I have had good luck using the soldering
method in the past. I built a 45-70 double rifle on a european 12 ga. shotgun by cutting the shotgun barrels
off, boring the monoblock stub paralel and solding in the turned down barrels with Brownells high force 44
solder. On the NEF handirifle there would be more area of contact than my double rifle, the stub is about 1 inch
longer. I would like others opinons on pros and cons on either method. Thanks
