6.5 x 68R
« on: April 26, 2007, 08:24:59 AM »
I am getting a 6.5 x 68R made up on a cpa action. Was looking for any infor from shooters as to Twist rate for the 120-160 grain bullets. They should be doing 3000-3400fps from the limited data I have. Any infor or ideas would be greatly appreciated

action   CPA stevens 44 1/2
Barrel #3   28 inch
Double set triggers
Twist  7.5 - 8

Looking for brass and best powders for this large case

Thanks for the help

The usual twist would be 7.5 to 1 in the varous military rifles that used the 160 grain bullets. My .260 has an 8.5 inch twist and handles everything I've shot, the 140s are generally longer than the 160 round noses.
