Any info or comments on the Forty-Five/410 revolver either with the 3"or 6-1/2" barrel.

I have one with a 6 inch barrel seems well made locks up tight. Sights are NOT ajustable and shoots about 6 inchs low at 30 yards. Not a  great shot but busting clays is alot of fun and I'm up to 1 out of 3. All in all its a keeper and fun to play with.

My Dad picked one up a few months ago and we've had a ball shooting it.  I didn't notice the sights being off on his and as far as a home defense gun...I sure wouldn't want to get hit with a .410 at close range.  OUCH!

Just happened to be watching the movie Black Dog staring Patrick Swayze and Randy Travis and Meat Loaf..... in a scene while shooting at Red (Meat Loaf) another actor Brian Vincent was shooting a ..... you guessed it, a Taurus M4410 2.5" blue.  Just found it interesting is all, and thought I would pass it along.

will it shoot the 6 shot or 4 shot with good patterns ? waht about loading up duplex loads with #4 lead shot and #4 buck with a tad of plastic filler an one tried it ? would love to have one if it is versatile enough and accurate for big gam at 100  yds in like my rfuger single action and smith 29 44 mag. have a contender 44 410 single shot for now... buddy just got the taurus, and I like it so far.

Some of you guys that reload, I need an opinion.   If you were to reload the 410 using the old time ago wads and paper over powder,  instead of present day shot cups.  Do you think that the rifling of the .410 revolvers would still blow the pattern.   I think that what blows the pattern of a rifled shotgun is the shotcup spinning with the rifling and sets the shot into the spin also.   But an over the powder cardboard wad should not make the shot start to spin.  What do you think.   I am considering buying one of the Tarus mod. 44-10 and all I really want it for is shooting snakes on my farm.

Have been loading and shooting shot in revolvers and single shot handguns, for years. The loads like your talking about with the shot loaded loose, no shot cup usually scatters more. It is also easier to clean a barrel that has something between the shot and the barrel. A .410 load from a 3" barrel at 15 feet or less is instant death on snakes and small critters. Try some number 6 shot or smaller in factory ammo on something you can see the shot on. I have one of the old single shot 45/410 pistols that sold for less than $50.00 years ago. The barrel is less than 4" long, and less than 2" from end of barrel to end of shell. You have to try hard to miss a snake from 5 to 15 feet away.

Just picked up on o these with the 2.5" cylinder and the 3" barrel.  Tried it out at 7-yards, 10-yards, and 25-yards with various .410 factory shot loads.  I was hoping that I may be able to use this as a "home" gun and for hunting rabbits here in MI.  I shot # 4 shot Remington Express Long Range, # 9 Winchester AA skeet loads, and 000 Buck loaded with three-pellets to a shell by Winchester.  The # 9 obviously had the best patterns at 7 and 10 yards for density, and the # 4's were very hit and miss for patterns at those ranges as well.  At 25 yards, forget it all together.  The 000 Buck appears to be an AWESOME home defense load at close range.  I emptied the cylinder double action at 7-yards and the result was 15 holes in the target equally spaced in about a 12" circle.  The same exercise at 10-yards yielded similar results but with about a third less holes.  Again, at 25-yards, forget about it!

So, in closing, not quite what I had hoped for for bunny hunting, but what I think would be an EXCELLENT house or vehicle gun!  Not to mention just an all around "fun" gun!

I can't help but think, though, I wonder if I could get a smith to install one of the shot-arrestor type choke tubes that TC put in their .45/.410 Encore and Contender barrels??  I would not hesitate to shoot at a bunny out to 30+ yards with one of the TC barrels!!!
