How do you remove it?
« on: April 30, 2007, 08:12:11 PM »
Hey all,

I put in the third set of Wolff springs in Ruger single actions the other day(trigger and hammer springs), and they have the one for the base pin's latch.  I was wondering how in the world do you install the spring...is there a special tool to take out the latch button with, or am I missing something?  I don't want to mess the screws up if I can avoid it.  Thanks.

I just put a Wolff spring kit in my New Vaquero, the base pin unscrewed with my fingers, no tool needed for that one.  Hold one side with your fingers and unscrew the other side with your fingers.

If the latch is more than finger tight, make a spanner from a screwdriver by filing a notch in the blade, adjust to fit the nut, and save the new tool with your gun kit.
