45-70 a requirement not an option, go with it you won't be sorrey, just a little sore with the big boomers
I'm with you, saying it's a REQUIREMENT. If there's one type of chambering that's demanding an old-style break-open or lever, it's a 45-70. The other, tho more lever-biased, is the 30-30. ( Anyone shooting a 30-30 in OTHER than a lever is suspect. .
) There's got to be some law on this. . or something. . .so if there isn't, I'm tempted to write my congressmen. Every self-respecting NEF owner should have a 45-70 bbl, and at least toss some ceremonial lead out occasionally. To me, and maybe I'm in the minority by a million-to-one, 'straight-wall' rimmed is the natural in a nostalgic breaker.
Bottle-necks, jacketed bullets . . . are Intruders. It's ok, but you better HAVE a straight wall in the closet, or safe, cabinet, rafters, door-stop.. . or it's just plain bad ju-ju. Why tempt bad karma.
