Hey guys i have a serious question1 I have always used tasco rings the cheap aluminum 7.00 wally world 1 inch rings these are always the easiest for me to mount and to not strip out i just hate dealing with weaver rings.
are these rings strng enough to handle 30-06 180gr loads shot after shot. i do not like using the slotted screws but i prefer Allen heads much better
i believe these are strong enough someone correct me if I am wrong thanks n advance

They might, and they might not. A 30-06 with 180 loads is not the heaviest of recoilers, but they do kick.

I don't advocate using those cheaper rings on anything but rimfire rifles, so you can imagine that I wouldn't advocate them on use on a .30-06.

Yes, they may be cheap (in price) and easy to mount, but consider the possible (or likely) chance of them breaking, getting new mounts, and taking the time to mount the new scope, and spend the money on ammo to sight it in - wouldn't it be better to just spend a little extra money and get a much better product and get it done right the first time? (That's a yes! :grin: )

I believe you are right, and that is one thing i hate is inconsistancy in a scope rings i usually trash the rifle. i have had tasco rings on 30-30 and 243 and such and even one savage 30-06 firing over 400 rounds and never a shift. but it was always in the back of my mind as they are so light How do you like that Tikka??? i loved my .223 that i had i am doing alot of playing with a remington 710 30-06 right now i guess from what people say i have one of the good ones as it is as accurate as anything i have ever owned about as accurate as my savage 110FP i shot 2 5 shot groups the other day one measured .485 and the other one was.610 at 100 yards from a sandbag rest nt bad for a cheap scope and cheap gun

I use and recommend Burris "ZEE" rings, when using weaver style bases. They are steel and well built.
