scent and corrosion

i put my new coyote traps, [#2 coilsprings] in my pack with grass in it to take off the scent, ill leave them in there till season comes
i already died them,will they rust if there in there for a few month from the grass

 If you dyed them, but did not wax them, the grass could provide moisture,and rust could result.

You don't want them to rust again so pack them in boxes lined with something natural smelling to your area until season and keep them dry. I use cedar boughs as lots of cedar in my region. One could use any evergreen native to ones area, ferns, grass, etc. Ace

VERY good replies... I dye my traps one day... and wax them NEXT day or later to alleviate the possibility of water/moisture(VERY BAD w/hot wax)being present... I then pack them "critters" away in totes w/ sagebrush(native here)till season start.... MAYBE it makes a difference... MAYBE not... but just think... WAX is a petroleum derivative.. hmmmm.... and BEEEZWAX is  in close proximity to FOOD.. lol
