Winchester 9410 worth having ?

Winchester 9410 , are the any good ? which model (longer bbl or short bbl , reg. sights , screw in choke , etc. ) thinking about getting one , how about slugs in one ? do they shoot 3 'or 2-3/4 " shells , and do they shoot 45COLT well ?

2 3/4" .410 only, no .45 Colt.  With the small number of pellets available in the .410, even full choke patterns begin to get thin in coverage after about 30 yards.  Slugs are pretty much a wasted effort since they only weigh 90 or 95 grains, like a .380 pistol, and being short for their weight, they don't retain velocity for beans.

no expert on them or there effectiveness but my buddy has one and its a hoot to shoot! Ive killed a couple rabbits with his and it worked at least as well as my tc 410. We had them shaking there heads at camp for about a half an hour breaking clay pigieons with a (3030) till someone finally saw us loading it!!

Thanks , saw one at a gun show today $ 675.00 front sight was off to the right so i passed !

Now that's interesting. The sight on my Marlin Model 410 is also off to the right and so is the bead on my IAC '87. Weird!

I seem to spend time in gun shops checking out the used rack , sometimes i find a deal , i also look over the lever guns pretty close , over the last few years it has been hard to find a front sight and in some cases a rear sight that is centered on top of the bbl. the round bbl seems to be the biggest problem , but i have seen a couple of marlins that had oct. bbl's and the dovetail for the front sight looked like it was cut so the sight was at an odd angle to the bbl , making the sight look twice as wide as it was and impossible to see light on either side when sighting the gun . With Winchester i guess it could be marked up to the labor problems toward the end , marlin not sure , maybe they think their guns should only be used with a scope or something who knows , Maybe the gun companies are setting them up for use in the hood where the preferred sighting style is to lay the gun over on its side to aim ! I guess i don't understand how i can pick up a SKS for $ 90.00 and it has the sights on straight and a $ 700.00 Winchester or Marlin doesn't guess i am just to picky !

The position of sights on a new rifle is one thing, but the sights on a used rifle were set or regulated to a load used by the previous owner. They mean nothing until it is shot by the intended owner. My handguns and rifles have such adjusted sights and someone else not duplicating my hold cannot hit the barn standing inside. Any good gunshop should agree to a 3day trial period to verify this. I've found some nice ones this way. In particular a very low serial number Trooper MkIII that a 38Spl shooter could not handle complete with some different styles of aftermarket grips for $125. Think about it.
My Marlin M62 shoots 4inches low and 6inches right with Re7 loads but is dead on with 2400 reloads. If iron sights were used they would really look out of whack.

I would agree with you if the sight was adjusted to one side or the other of an otherwise correctly installed base but that's not what i'm seeing , as to out of center adjusted sights i have a colt frontier in 45COLT the sight at the rear is adjusted all the way to the left , i would get rid of it if it wasn't the most accurate one i have , i just don't want the barrel re-positioned (turned )
Back to the front sights , it looks as though the base is installed 5-7 degrees off top dead center , its enough to see when you sight down the barrel , i had a xp-100 that had 2 holes for owner supplied front sight , one hole was off to the right the other to the left , so we leveled the rear sight and used a  tdc punch to locate the 3rd hole we drilled !
I guess it just seems that putting a front sight on should be well easy for a gun company ! but it seems so many are not !
I guess in the back of my mind I wonder what they did on the inside where i don't see if they botched what i could see !
