which wfn for a 41

Veral,
I thinking of getting a 41 mag blackhawk to use for hunting. Which wfn do you recommend , the 240 or 250 gr? I have seen that you recommend the 280 in 44 mag and 300 gr in the 45 colt in a blackhawk. I will be hunting deer, black bear and hogs at ranges up to 50 or 75 yds. I don't cast yet , but I hope to start soon. Thank you

I know your looking for a wfn but in my experience verals 250 lfngc is about the most accurate 41 bullet that ive come accross and its done real well for me in the field too and it shoots like a rilfe at long range.

Lloyd's reccomendation of a 250 gr LFN for accuracy is correct, but for quick kills I recommend a 220 gr WFN, driven at a comfortable 1400 fps or so.  This will work great on game up to elk at least, but don't let a huge grizzly bite you without shooting him first.  It is heavy enough for them too, as a defense bullet.  I'm presuming that you like the 41 moderate recoil, and this bullet delivers what you are hoping for, with super killing punch.  Close as you can get to eating and still having your cake.
Sure, you didn't ask, but for larger game than you are after, get a 44 or 45.

What wisdom can you share on the 255 WFN and the 265 LFN for the 41?  I have a small supply of each as well as Corbon and Buffalo loaded 265 LFN. IO have taken one very small caribou with the 265 and carry that load in brown bear country in a 4 in Smith.

Both are great.  Just push them hard so the speed is up where it gives a good wound channel, which means a displacement velocity of 100 +.  Especially the LFN needs full loads to kill quickly, because of the smaller meplat and heaviest weight.
