Contender opening lever
« on: May 17, 2007, 01:56:01 AM »
I have seen a web reference to a small lever that aids the opening of early Contenders.
Hopefully I can be pointed in the right direction to find it.

Thanks
Bob

I got one on ebay a couple of years ago.  They show up there every so often.  I haven't seen a new one advertised for a while.

Bob,

Is your Contender the "early" model that has the pivot all the way at the front of the frame?  If so, I would highly suggest you send it back to T\C and have them "re-do" it to the "easy open" pivot. I think (don't quote me on this....memory is a bad thing) the cost is $45, but they drill the pivot about mid-frame and replace the trigger "guts".

I had this done on my early model and would highly recommend it.

Thanks for advice.
I am in Australia & can't send it to the factory.
Good news is I am getting used to it.
