BFR prices
« on: May 04, 2007, 07:53:01 AM »
I am thinking about buying  one of Mag. Reaserch BFR pistols in the 45colt-410.  These things are all listed at about $ 900 MFG suggested retail.   What are realistic prices for one of these revolvers?  I know people who probably can order one for me,  but I am just trying to get a feel for how much they sell for.

In this part of the country (Southeast) BFR's run from $450 up depending on caliber, condition, and how bad the seller wants to sell. The average will vary some in different parts of the country. Last one I bought used was a Hornet for $650, a used .475 sold for $750. Hope that helps.

The Old Redneck, you need to tell me where you can get a BFR for $450.00. It must be in bad shape. The BFR's I seen
are all the same price no matter the calaber.

New prices I have seen at $799 to $825, depending on the mark up from the dealer. Used price I have seen from $695 to $750.

I looked at one in .475 up here last weekend and I think it was priced at $650 (used)

I have the original D-Max Side winder 45colt/410. I paid 500 and worth it! Magnum research took over production, Dmax still makes the grip frame. I have never seen a BFR in Bad shape. Hard to Imagine one being shot out in 45 colt or .410, Even my BFR 45/70 Holds up fine. Good guns. Even with no ammo it could dispatch a deer at twenty yards if you could throw it accurately!

around here anyway the .475s seem to be about the best at holding there value and the other chamberings can be picked up at a substaintail cut in price on the used market.

The BFR that sold for $450 was a case of too much gun, and how bad the seller wanted to get rid of it. Friend got a 45/70 and almost a full box of ammo for the $450. Better than what I paid for mine in 45/70.
