.44 Jacketed Bullet help wanted!

No wish to bring up old wars but I have a new project and need some advice.  Want to load 240 jacketed soft point over 22-24 gr H110 or similar load of Lil' Gun.  Any suggestions or comments as to bullet integrity at those velocities and subsequent terminal performance on deer/hog sized game?  Rem JSP or Speer? Many thanks.

I always tried to stick with soft points rather than hollow points for 44 mag rifles.  Speer makes a gold dot soft point that is supposed to be quite stout.  Nosler makes the 250 grain hollow point partition, one of the few I would use at rifle velocities.  Hornady also has a 265 grain Interlock that was designed for the 444 Marlin.  Those are my favorites.  If you dont mind the cost, Barnes' hollowpoints should also penetrate quite well, even though they have large cavities.

Im shooting 240gr Hornady XTP with 23grains of H110.
I shoot in my rifle and my pistol. In the rifle I get about 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards.

Many thanks.  I would prefer to not use HP's on the strong chance of encountering a large (300 lb ++) hog! The Speer or Rem JSP was what I was contemplating using.

I am assuming you are using this load in a Handi-Rifle, and you mentioned the possibility of encountering a substantial sized hog. I'm wondering if you would consider the 300 grain Hornady XTP , even though it's a hollowpoint, or the 300 grain Speer FP. At most hunting ranges you'll never notice the difference in trajectory, and I think either would insure a clean kill. I have used both bullets in a Ruger SRH to hunt pronghorn and mule deer in Nevada and Wyoming with success. In a Handi, you should have no problems.
