squirrel baiting

would it work well to dump a few bags of deer corn in squirrel territory,let them get used to eating it,then hunt that area

Sounds good on the surface but the Squirrels are probably already in the area. Even as you take some out, new ones will move in. This is a  relaxing hunt and a great way to leave the busy life behind for a while. Stealth & patience will be the way to go and will allow you to tune in and move to the prime areas. This will also prepare you for Deer, Turkey, & Predator hunting.
Make sure to go early as the Squirrels go high & become mighty quiet after 10:00am when the temp starts warming up…Check your regulations as far as the baiting goes, I don’t really think that this will be nessary. If you do have some corn out there, the Deer will probably clean you out in one night.

ha, it worked just the opposite, we set out 5 bags of corn in late august so deer wouyld come from the neighbors woods into ours, the squirrels wouldnt leave it alone

And that is why they invented the pellet guns... won't scare the other animals away, takes care of the tree rats.

If we were going for just squirrels, usually put out marshmellows, they loved em!

the tree rats in my hood are to easy to kill( i ones walked within 2 feet of one and shot it with a air-soft gun in full auto) but as for bait try bead, squirrel food( you can get it at walmart) or just any people food. I have them eating out of my lap.

why bait ? takes the hunt out of it , unless ya just need to get rid of pest !
use peanut butter , they have to sit and eat can't grab and run ! works on rats also !
by the way , nothing against bait , just ain't hunting anymore , only shooting , still fun i guess !
