Omega Scope Mounting Issue

Fellas:
I bought an Omega.
I went to WM and bought some T/C Gorilla rings and bases and put them on the gun.
I bought a Redhead Ascent Muzzleloader scope.
When I tried to mount it, the scope was too short; it wouldn't fit between the rings.
The tube length is 12.2 inches. Do I need a longer scope, different mounting base?
