30-06 Handi with 125 gr bullets

Am thinking that verses using a 25-06 with 120 gr bullets, that one could use 125 gr bullets loaded in 30-06 rounds. Remington also commercially produces the Express rounds.

How does the Handi barrels shoot the 125 gr bullets. Rate of barrel twist ect.

For ranges less than 250 yards any arguable differences?

Remington now has a web site with ballistic results comparisons.  It shows the BC of the 30 caliber bullet is only .268, compared to .362 for the 25.  A comparison indicates the two bullets will have similar energy at 200 yards.  However, beyond that, the 25 caliber leaves the 30 in the dust.

Does anyone know where to find sectional densities for commercial loads?

I presently hand load 100gr. Hornady bullets in my "06". Works for me.

Midway shows SD for most all of their bullets if you know exactly what bullet is loaded in the commercial ammo. Click the Technical Specifications & Use above the bullet pic to see SD and BC. Some bullet BCs are displayed by velocity, others are static.
