'The More Complete Cannoneer' out of print?
« on: May 27, 2007, 03:43:04 PM »
I have been corresponding with a friend on another (unrelated) forum who has become interested in cannon. He's purchased a Black Powder Firecracker Cannon from Brooks.

He tried to order a copy of Switlik's book from SBR, but was told it was 'out of print' and that they didn't have any left.

Museum & Collector Specialties has no contact number or e-mail address listed. They also have a disclaimer on their sight about having a limited number of copies left. He would like to find out if they actually have any before sending them money.

I've been trying to find him a copy on the auction sites with no luck.

So whassup? Can 'the book' still be purchased, or has the supply dried up?

Terry C         I had the same problem a while back.   Try Dixie Gun Works.  They had them a couple months ago.

 Terry C,

You can find his email address under the Loomis Battery. Check to see his supply. Heck, he may even sign it for you...  ;D ;D Have no fear as there is a new one in the works. Should be out soon.

If you make it idiot proof, then, someone will make a better idiot.

Terry C,

There is a direct link to Matt Switlik for the book in the GBO Sticky “Where to find Blackpowder Cannon and shooting Supplies”.

FYI:

Matthew Switlik informed me at the Mansfield Artillery show that the revised edition of his book, will be available before the November 2007 Cannon Safety, and Drill School that will be scheduled at the NMLRA,  range in Friendship, Indiana.

Keep tuned in for additional information on the book and school.
