Glad to hear the good reviews on the Smith 22A
« on: July 12, 2007, 03:52:25 PM »
I just traded a Navy Arms T Olympia Target pistol (Made in China by Norinco) For a Smith 22A that had a NC pistol scope on it with a lighted reticle. Now I know the NC is not the best scope out there but this one seemed clear and I like Lighted Reticles. I traded with 20 bucks to boot. Figure I made a good deal. The gun was used but like new with the box and all the paper work not even sure if the warranty was sent in as the guy that bought it had wife problems and she said get rid of the gun or I am gone. My self I would have tested her. If he caved in this easy his life is going to be hell I am sure of that.  i bought it at the gun store I frequent but the one of the salesmen is a friend of mine and he took the gun back in. It looks like it has less than a box through it. I figure I got a deal.  ;D Now that Olympia was a tack driver but had FINE sights and at 55 my eyes are not like they used to be so I really had to take my time shooting it. I figure this Smith with the scope I should have more fun shooting.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Give it a good cleaning and lubrication and it should shoot well for you.  I'd order some extra recoil buffers.  You should have two in the box, but it never hurts to have more.  I ordered an extra recoil springs and rods based on the theory that if I'm careless they can be launched into the nether regions of the workbench only to be found by archaeologists in a few millennia hence.

I've gotten the best results with mine using standard velocity ammunition.

I bought one back in March. I shoot it about two or three days a week. I have shot at least ten boxes of the federal bulk pack 550 through it and i am still on the same buffer.  I have it topped with the Tru GLo red dot sight and i hope you have as much fun with yours as i do mine.

I also have a Ruger MK3  with an Ultra Dot sight on it and the S&W shoots just as good.
